plus and additional

SPECIAL MEETING

on Monday, the 15th of October, at 3:30 in W8.

I would like the first few sessions to be mainly an informal way of exploring what scepticism, critical thinking and scientific reasoning is all about: at least from the point of view of a scientist. Therefore, there will be short videos to be seen and to discuss about.

Together, we will also try to define a draft of what we want to achieve by the end of each topic, taking into account what we can do, how to do it and with whom we can do it!

Hope to see you all there then!
Live long and prosper...

The SKeptics in the SKool (=SK^2) is a club organised by students and supervised by teachers at Cheney School (Oxford).

Its major aim is to develop a general appreciation for sane scepticism through critical thinking and scientific debunking of common myths, hidden truths or conspiracy theories.

I would like the club to be a scientifically based debating club, where anyone with an interesting question, or a doubt, or just the curiosity to listen to interesting facts, would feel free to join in.

The club is totally comprehensive, open to any pupil, gender, background and age, and it is supervised by Science teacher(s) and managed by a team of 6th formers.

My personal hope would be to make this website an effective portal for vany growing sceptical mind in our school, but not only. Later during the year, the club will probably benefit of a direct link to various social platforms and possibly of a dedicated podcast

The only thing left now to be done is to start!
